A Big Mistake
I lay in my bed and glared at the light,
The anger inside me reached dangerous heights,
Things I would say to him, things I would do,
But I had no idea it would happen so soon.
A second later we were face to face,
I couldn`t have chosen a better place,
It had all gone on for far too long,
And now I would put right what was wrong.
Yet suddenly I was gripped with fear,
If it started now, it wouldn`t end here,
But pride won through, and I quickly attacked,
And showed me then the guts that he lacked.
The damn was broken, the river was free,
With little or no resistance from he,
And then it was over, he was away,
And I wondered what price I would now have to pay.
The battle continued on different grounds,
Here he was stronger, but I wouldn`t back down,
He wasn`t about to make me lose now,
I haven`t lost yet, and I don`t know how.
Showdown time – and I had the gun,
He`d dug himself in, with nowhere to run,
With a smile I walked and turned from his place,
Rage in his eyes, and egg on his face.
