Immortal
The millionth person, the millionth time,
The millionth soul, the millionth mind;
The Beast desires another kill,
To strengthen Its purpose, to focus Its will.
A woman, this time, It decides to choose,
An easy target, sure to lose,
For the Beast is mighty, always wins,
And so It attacks; the battle begins!
But the Beast is surprised, is in for a fight,
She does not surrender as easily she might,
Until that day she was sad and depressed,
Her spirit shattered, restrained, repressed.
But the Beast has restored her purpose and life,
Galvanised, she wants to survive.
The Beast is impressed, a challenge at last!
The lady is strong, intelligent, fast,
Still It knows It can win, just a matter of time,
Before It forces her over the line.
Yet she becomes stronger with every attack,
Confronts the Beast, fights right back.
And now It considers a different plan,
A change in tack, a different scam.
And still the lady has a surprise,
Instead she offers a compromise,
A way that she can stay alive,
Enjoy her life, be strong, survive.
The Beast accepts with stunning glee,
And shares Its immortality,
Together, forever, they start a new quest,
To conquer them all – to kill the rest.
